The ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide (LIAG)

The ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide (LIAG) was developed by the Education Service Center, Region 20, in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency. The purpose of this resource is to support teachers as they identify the essential components for providing K-12 instruction aligned with English learners’ (ELs’) linguistic needs.

In the following module, Dr. Janecek will use the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) Academy Resource Supplement, which includes an extended version of the ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide. She uses this document to provide you with an example of how teachers could gather the information needed to ensure that their classroom instruction meets English learner’s individual academic and linguistic needs.

There is also a simplified version of the ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide (LIAG).
